Our Officers

These are the dedicated colleagues that work at the forefront and behind the scenes of LAMTA. They help organize various events throughout the year and are helpful resources to us all.

Brief History

Founded by composer, pianist, and dedicated colleague Joyce Grill, LAMTA was formed in 1980 as a means to provide area music teachers with ways to meet and communicate with each other. LAMTA is affiliated with the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association (WMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Through meetings, workshops, conventions, master classes, and various other events, teachers continue learning for the benefit of their students. Students of LAMTA members are eligible to participate in performances, competitions, and educational opportunities not available to students of non-members. Membership in LAMTA, WMTA, and MTNA benefits teachers, students, and the La Crosse area arts community. Active membership is open to all persons professionally engaged in any field of musical activity.
